We live ouside of Canada, but own property with a cabin on it. My dad and aunt own it. According to the insurance if one of the owners (ppl on the insurance) are not on the property (say, 500 miles away) if something happens (like someone falls breaks there leg) to someone we take there, we are not covered and could sue us. Long term car rentals vs expensive car insurance?

So about 2 years ago I got hit with a false DWI in NYC (passed breathalyzer test cops still lied and claimed DWI). But that's another story. Currently I purchased a used Landrover Disco 2. Geico gave me a sweet deal @ $1430/6 months until they ran the DMV report and saw my DWI from 2 years ago. Now my 6 month rate is $3700/6 months. That price is completely rediculous and unaffordable (according to my pockets). Therefore, my question, should I just do long term car rental? I mean I have a super sweet discount that rivals employees discounts @ National and Enterprise Rentals. I'm thinking I could just rent on a month to month basis for less than $3700/every 6 months. The added benefits would be new year car models and the option to trade it in for any vehicle I choose for an entire month. Plus the gas would be less than the Landrovers V8 premium requirement. Basically my question is, should I do long term rentals or run myself broke trying to keep up with insurance and gas prices on top of rent and other expenses?

Health Insurance 15 years, now NO health insurance!?

I've had insurance since I've been on my own now, roughly 15 years. However thanks to Obamacare my insurance plan has been cancelled, so now I don't have insurance. Obamacare requires maturnity care, which of course mine didn't cover because I am a male. I looked into Obamacare but it was like 400 a month for me versus my other Blue Cross plan which was 175 a month and had almost little to no co-pay and a very low deductible. So someone explain to me how after all these years of hard work and having GREATTTTTT health insurance I have NO health insurance and basically don't want this bronze OVER priced piece of crap high deductible health insurance. If your broke, then you can't even afford the bronze because the deductibles are so high that it will bankrupt you and you won't get the subsidies until end of year so you can't afford it anyway LOL. Kinda sad I lose my health insurance so some low life can now finally have something they can't afford to use any way.

Im currently insured with Geico. I got my plan back last year when i had a beater car (2001 nissan maxima). My premium was only 260 or so for the whole year, whiche came out to 40 bucks or so a month. ive since bought a new car (2013 nissan versa) and switched it with my old car. my monthly payment only went up 4 or 5 bucks as a result. This rate is fricking great and i have no problems. however, when i go to refinance (for lack of a better word) my insurance or simply shop around, for some reason the quotes they give me skyrockets my payments to 260+ a month!! the same is for other insurance providers aswell, even the insurance offered by my bank! what gives? why the huge leap? i have a clean record (no accidents ever, last speeding ticket was 4+ years ago), what was at the time, a brand new car, aswell as a better job (was working in a restaurant, now at a lawfirm). Sure, ive moved since i first got the policy, into a poorer neighboor hood, but does it really warrant a 200 dollar increase? Someone please help me wrap my head around this. im 21 and am still pretty clueless when it comes to this sort of thing

id like to know how the uk companies set up the payment schemes where you can pay monthly and if i could look into it here to help people like myself spread the payments any help is very much appreciated

Citroen c2 1.4 insurance why so expensive how to get smaller quote?

I just bought a C2 1.4 04 plate less than 30000 on clock semi auto and when I came to insure it nearly died! More than I paid for car! I am 30 and have been driving for 5 years, the first year I had my own car then I have driven hire cars or been a named driver on relatives cars. No claims, points, accidents or offences. WHY SO EXPENSIVE??? Please help me I feel in so annoyed as can't drive without insurance and at this rate can't afford to insure! Any info greatly received :)

Car insurance - My car is totalled - what now?

my car is totaled according to the insurace company. It is the other person at fault so their insurance is dealing with it. I feel as if I'm getting the runaround a bit. How will they determine a fair value of the car and what if I don't agree with what they offer? They have also given me a rental which they tell me I must return once the agreement is made and I will be out of town and cannot return it for a week. They said I have to pay for the rental of the days I am gone!!!!!! Do I have to agree to their terms or how do I go about handling this situation? The other week, my dumb *** relative backed into my parked car. Essentially, he could of saved himself two grand if he bothered to turn and look like he was supposed to. My question and PLEASE only answer with relative/helpful information: If I don't use a rental during the time my vehicle gets repaired, will it lower his costs with his provider? Or will it not matter? I only ask because, though an idiot, is still family (plus his parents are being ******* cause their kid can do no wrong if you know what I mean).
